Theme Song
Here’s Jill and Lamb with our Theme Song “I’m Free”
Your Son Will Live
Next we are going to have today’s story, it’s called- “Your Son Will Live” and you can find it in the Gospel of John verses 46-54 We’ve printed it right here so you can read it yourself or ask someone to read it to you:-
46 Then Jesus went back to Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. A government official was there whose son was sick in Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to go to Capernaum and heal his son, who was about to die. 48 Jesus said to him, “None of you will ever believe unless you see miracles and wonders.”49 “Sir,” replied the official, “come with me before my child dies.”50 Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live!”The man believed Jesus’ words and went. 51 On his way home his servants met him with the news, “Your boy is going to live!”52 He asked them what time it was when his son got better, and they answered, “It was one o’clock yesterday afternoon when the fever left him.” 53 Then the father remembered that it was at that very hour when Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” So he and all his family believed.54 This was the second miracle that Jesus performed after coming from Judea to Galilee.
Now “It’s Showtime!”
Song
Here’s Jill with another song, it’s called “Lord I Lift Your Name on High”, don’t forget to sing along
Game
Are you ready to play a game? Our friend Mikaela has prepared one for you. Have fun!
- Declare with a Ball and a Book
- In what ways did Jesus heal the official’s son? Declare the answers by tossing a ball up and down on a book.
- Use both of your hands to hold a sturdy book or a thick cardboard. Ask a friend or family member to toss a light-weight ball in the air to start you off. Keep the ball in the air as
- you declare all the ways Jesus healed (ensure that the ball is in the air as you declare each line):
- Jesus healed someone he hadn’t met.
Craft
In today’s story Jesus healed someone. Do you know somebody who is sick, or feeling sad about something? Today we are going to make some special notecards, using a technique called “Pochoir”. Maybe later today you could deliver one of your cards to a person who needs cheering up. If you have some postage stamps at home you could even decorate an envelope too and send your card by mail.
Let’s get going:-
Pochoir Stencilled Notecards
Supplies:
- Thick white cardstock paper
- Small envelopesScissors
- Flat plastic container lids (eg- from a margarine tub or ice cream container)
- Sharpie markers, coloured pencils or crayons
- Optional- stickers and/or washi tape
Instructions:
- Draw a simple design on the plastic lid and cut out with scissors.
- Fold a sheet of cardstock in half to form a card. Trim to fit your envelopes if necessary.
- Place the lid with the cutout design on the front of the card. Using markers or crayons carefully fill in the design with one or more coluors. Lift up lid to reveal your stencil.
- If your cutout design is small you can use it to stencil more than one design on your cards. You could also make a stencil on the envelopes.
- Optional; Add some washi tape or stickers to make your design even more special
- Now write a message or draw a picture to send a greeting to someone.
Last of all we have our weekly CHALLENGE!!
Lamb was so excited to see the photos some of you sent in. Here is a photo of Lambonade!
Week 2 Challenge
Hi Campers!
Jesus worked a miracle in this story by healing the official’s son. What do you think a miracle is? Can you think of some examples? At first I couldn’t think of anything but then I remembered some miracles I see all around me like rainbows, my baby lamb brother, bread rising, and music! I also think delicious grass is a miracle- God always provides lots for me to eat and play in! Here is a picture of me enjoying my lunch! Take a picture of a miracle and send it to me at office@crosstalkministries.ca Go outside and find a miracle!
Love, Lamb
That’s all for this week. We hope you had fun. See you next Tuesday, bye for now J
