Terrific Tuesday Week 3- “He Has Opened My Eyes”

Hello Friends!

We are already at the mid-point of Terrific Tuesdays with our third story-“He Has Opened My Eyes”. Have you been having fun? Let’s jump right in and sing our Theme Song.

THEME SONG- “I am Free”

Now let’s dig into our story “He Has Opened My Eyes”, found in the Gospel of John Chapter 9 v. 1-11:-

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been born blind. His disciples asked him, “Teacher, whose sin caused him to be born blind? Was it his own or his parents’ sin?”Jesus answered, “His blindness has nothing to do with his sins or his parents’ sins. He is blind so that God’s power might be seen at work in him. As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me; night is coming when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light for the world.”After he said this, Jesus spat on the ground and made some mud with the spittle; he rubbed the mud on the man’s eyes and told him, “Go and wash your face in the Pool of Siloam.” (This name means “Sent.”) So the man went, washed his face, and came back seeing. His neighbours, then, and the people who had seen him begging before this, asked, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?”Some said, “He is the one,” but others said, “No he isn’t; he just looks like him. ”So the man himself said, “I am the man.”10 “How is it that you can now see?” they asked him.11 He answered, “The man called Jesus made some mud, rubbed it on my eyes, and told me to go to Siloam and wash my face. So I went, and as soon as I washed, I could see.”

  • Have fun and remember to was your hand afterwards!

Craft

This week’s craft is also about making mud, yay!  Here is a recipe for “Mud” Playdough.

Note:You will need to ask a grown up to help you with this craft because it requires cooking on a stove top. “Mud” Playdough

Supplies:

  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 2½cups water
  • 2 ½ cups salt
  • 5 Tbsps. oil(vegetable or canola)
  1. Mix the dry ingredients
  2.  Add the water and oil.
  3. Stir all the ingredients together and cook over low-medium heat.
  4. Keep stirring (you’ll get your forearm workout for the day.). The mixture will start to thicken up and pull together. Keep going a little bit longer until it is no longer sticky when you squeeze a piece of the mixture between your fingers.
  5. Once it’s no longer sticky, dump it out onto a clean surface.
  6. While it is still warm (but not hot) knead it until it is smooth.
  7. Cover with a damp cloth for about 20 minutes and then place inside a  ziploc bag or a container with a lid. Leave the open until there is no longer any condensation. Seal and store in the fridge

Challenge

This week we have received a number of great photos from the crafts and challenges for Weeks 1 and 2. Here are some of them. Can you see your pictures?

Here’s Lamb with our CHALLENGE. Don’t forget to send us your photos

Hello Campers!

Hey, can you guess what Lamb’s favourite thing to read is?…

The Wool-Street-Journal! Ahaha, get it?

I also love to read stories about Jesus, like today’s story of Jesus healing the man who was blind!  Can you  imagine? Jesus is always surprising me, by showing love in unexpected ways!

Can you surprise someone by showing love to them today? Here I am surprising my friend by helping her do the dishes. Can you surprise someone you live with by doing something great to help them? Let me know what you do!

Love, Lamb

That’s all for today, we hope you had good time! See you next week and have fun making things with your play “MUD”
