Day Camp Committee- October highlights!

No problem thinking what I should write about this week since, last Monday we had our second Day Camp committee Meeting of the new Fall Season.
Wil, the “barky” dog!
We had a good turnout and quite a wild time, what with my dog,Wil, ( large, bouncy and barky), Jill’s daughter,Emma (almost 2) and Brenda’s very special cuckoo clock via the G-talk connection!!!
I plowed ahead with the agenda and I believe Alexander took minutes on his laptop (although I haven’t seen them yet, hint, hint) Thus we covered quite a lot of territory.
I think everyone enjoyed the corn chili ( this week’s recipe!!) and Apple Spice Cake  in fact Josiah called up yesterday to ask for the recipe as he needed to make a big pot of  vegetarian chili for last evening. It is super simple and very tasty. Do try it!
I hope you have all noticed the new, improved “Nostalgia” slide show running along the side of the Blog. Jillian did a great job re-sizing photos and uploading them.

Coming soon :-the “On Fire!” -2011 slide show too, but I’m waiting for a DVD with pics for that. There is also a rumor that the long anticipated Promo DVD is finished and is uploaded on YouTube, I still haven’t found it but once it turns up I will be including the link.

We are making progress with the 2012 Program Manual. All the chapters have now been allocated for editing and content is already starting to be sent in OOO HOO!!

Parish applications and TEAM applications should soon start arriving . You can download copies of both the 2012 Application forms right here on the Blog.

This past week I also continued editing Planning Guides, the new versions of which will be sent to every Parish and Community which signs up to host a Day Camp in 2012.
Don’t forget the upcoming Coffee House; it starts at 7pm on November 12th and takes place at the Isaiah 40 Foundation 5867 Cote St. Antoine Rd. in NDG, admission 5$ which includes entertainment and refreshments. Bring along some extra spending money as there will also be a great opportunity to buy special Christmas gifts from our Arts Festival exhibitors!!
