Wednesday Words- The CookAlong Season 7

Here is an extra “Wednesday Words” post for you, as we have just wrapped up Season 7 of the Day Camps Cook-Along.

The Theme for Season 7 was “Eat Your Veggies!” .Many Christians choose to eat vegetarian as part of their Lenten discipline so, as this series took place during Lent, we thought it would be a good plan to feature some special veggie dishes and encourage our young cooks to be more adventurous 😊.

Episode 1-

 Chef Jessica shared a unique recipe for Radish Pancakes. One young cook announced “I don’t like radishes!” but halfway through the session, while busily grating them he shouted “I’m having FUN!”. Subsequently his Mum reported that he and his family gobbled up all the pancakes as soon as the episode was over and, as they grow radishes in their garden, thet will certainly try them again this summer.

Episode 2-

Saw Chef Syndi-Belle making her Mother’s recipe for Zucchini Muffins. This was a great recipe for everyone as it included several variations of ingredients and also made a generous batch of 2 dozen muffins!

Episode 3-

Chef Victor rounded off our season with a hearty dinner dish of Eggplant Cheddar. With lots of cheese and yummy tomato sauce, this meal was guaranteed to win over veggie haters.

We are so grateful to our volunteer chefs. Everyone had a super time and plans are in the works for Season 8, which will take place sometime next autumn 😊.
